Dozens of paintball guns have been stolen following a break-in at a site in Edinburgh.

Staff at Skirmish Paintball at Crow Wood in the west of the city discovered around £20,000 of equipment had been taken from a container on Saturday.

There were 60 Tippmann .68 calibre paintball guns stolen, along with 14 guns of other types.

Four airsoft guns were also taken, along with a generator and a large quantity of paintballs.

Police are investigating and have asked anyone with information to come forward.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police in Edinburgh are investigating following a break-in and theft from a business premises in the west of the city.

"A container unit at the Skirmish Paintball facility at Crow Wood was entered sometime between Saturday, December 3, and Saturday, December 10, and a large quantity of items including paintball guns, airsoft guns and paintballs were stolen.

"Inquiries are ongoing to trace the items and identify those responsible.

"Anyone with information is asked to come forward."
