Two injured in 'extremely violent' fight at Edinburgh pub
Officers review CCTV after the large-scale incident on Leith Walk on Saturday.
A man suffered serious head injuries and a woman was also hurt after a large-scale fight broke out in an Edinburgh pub.
The "extremely violent" incident took place in the Spey Lounge on Leith Walk at around 1am on Saturday.
The disturbance then spilled out onto the street before the attackers fled the scene.
A 22-year-old man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with serious head injuries while a woman, also 22, suffered minor injuries.
A major police probe has been launched into the incident and detectives are reviewing CCTV.
Officers said a "number of people" had been involved in the incident.
Detective Constable Ryan Lee of Gayfield CID said: "This was an extremely violent attack and we are keen to trace all parties involved as quickly as possible.
"Leith Walk is a busy part of the city and many people had been out watching the football match between England and Scotland.
"We are today appealing to anyone who was in the area and who saw what happened to come forward.
"We're also keen to hear from motorists who were travelling on Leith Walk and who were forced to slow down in order to pass the group safely.
"Those with information are asked to call police on 101 or alternatively an anonymous report can be made through the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
