Pick-up driver punched in face during road rage incident
A fellow motorist attacked his 66-year-old victim on the A7 in the Borders.
A driver was attacked and his vehicle was vandalised in a road rage incident in the Borders.
The 66-year-old victim had been driving his silver Hyundai pick-up on the A7 on Wednesday evening when the driver of a white and green van signalled for him to pull over.
He stopped on the southbound carriageway between Stow and Galashiels before the other driver started arguing with him.
He punched him in the face and smashed the pick-up's wing mirror and drove off.
The victim suffered minor facial injuries but did not need medical treatment.
Constable Sarah Younger said: "This dispute and subsequent assault seems to have been over a relatively minor issue but resulted in the victim being assaulted and his vehicle being damaged.
"I would ask that anyone who was on the A7 on Wednesday evening and witnessed this exchange, or who has information that can help us identify the suspect, contacts police immediately."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
