A man has been arrested and charged after a knifepoint robbery in a shop in East Lothian.

The incident took place at the Paperview newsagent in North High Street, Musselburgh, on Tuesday.

The 34-year-old is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Friday.

Inspector Andrew Harborow, of Musselburgh Police Station, said: "Police Scotland treats all incidents of knife crime seriously.

"Anyone found to be carrying an offensive weapon will be dealt with robustly and can expected to be held fully accountable for their actions."
