'Vital' witness sought after attempted robbery on Lothian bus

A "vital" witness has been urged to come forward by detectives investigating an attempted robbery on a bus in Edinburgh.
The incident took place on a number 25 Lothian bus at around 7.15pm last Wednesday.
The vehicle was travelling between Leith Walk and Dalry Road when the alleged attempted robbery happened.
Officers believe a male passenger was a key witness to the offence. He is described as a white man in his 30s, 5ft 10in to 6ft, of medium build, with closely shaved hair.
He was wearing a black hooded insulated jacket which had a lighter trim, black trousers, and dark trainers with a lighter coloured sole.
The man was carrying a black Nike drawstring bag and a bottle of water. He was last seen getting off the bus on Dalry Road.
Officers said the man could have "vital evidence" for the investigation.
Detective Constable Gavin Howat of Corstorphine CID said: "We've conducted enquiries and collected evidence but we're still eager to speak to this man about the incident.
"We would urge him to get in touch with us or anyone who can help us trace him is asked to come forward."
