Dozens of volunteers mount search for missing student
Police say Antoine Maury's jacket, jumper and phone were found earlier this week.
Dozens of people have turned out to support a police search for a missing French student in Edinburgh.
Antoine Maury, 21, has not been seen since he left friends near his Edinburgh College accommodation on Milton Road East at around 10.30pm on Monday.
Despite extensive searches involving the police marine unit, dogs and helicopter, Mr Maury has not been found.
On Saturday, his parents Pascal and Laura Maury joined police and volunteers to embark on further searches in the Holyrood Park area.
A shirtless man, who police believe could be Mr Maury, was seen running near Duddingston village later on Monday night. The dog walker who reported the sighting said the man looked anxious.
Police confirmed on Saturday that Mr Maury's jacket, jumper, hat and phone were found on Cavalry Park Drive, behind Holy Rood High, earlier this week.
Around 100 volunteers gathered beside the school on Saturday morning to sign up for the search.
They were split into teams to focus on specific areas, including the grounds of Duddingston House, the school and the periphery of the nearby football pitches, throughout the day.
Mr Maury's parents, who travelled from France to assist the search, made an emotional public appeal for information on Friday.
They said they were "desperate" to find him, adding: "We want him to know that we love him, he is not in trouble and for him to come home.
"We ask that anyone living in the area to please check their outbuildings and garages again to confirm that Antoine is not hiding there."
His father reiterated those views on Saturday, saying the family was not giving up hope that Mr Maury would be found safe.
Mr Maury is white, around 6ft, of medium build, with short brown hair, a beard and a fair complexion.
He has a tattoo of a bleeding hand on his forearm.
He was last seen wearing a brown/green bomber jacket with dark chinos and a white beanie hat.
He is thought to have been wearing black and white Vans trainers.
He was born and raised in Paris and moved to St Andrews to study when he was 16.
