A woman has appeared in court charged with attempted murder following an alleged incident involving two on-duty police officers.

Sharon Mackenzie, 46, made a brief appearance at Livingston Sheriff Court on Friday following the alleged incident on Hopefield Drive, Blackburn, on Thursday afternoon.

Mackenzie, from Blackburn, was charged with attempted murder, dangerous driving, breach of the peace, assaulting police officers, and several road traffic offences.

She made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.

The case was committed for further examination and a date is yet to be set for her next court appearance.

A police officer was taken to hospital with minor injuries in the incident, which involved a collision with a Mini Cooper.

The other officer was not injured.
