Drivers warned to avoid M8 slip road after car transporter fire
Emergency services were called to the scene near Cliftonhall at 6.30pm on Thursday.
Drivers are being advised to avoid a motorway slip road after a car transporter caught fire.
Plumes of smoke were spotted coming from the vehicle at around 6.30pm on Thursday as it travelled on the westbound slip off at junction 2 on the M8 near Cliftonhall.
Emergency services were called to the scene and fire crews began to tackle the blaze.
No one was injured in the incident, a police spokesman said.
Traffic Scotland reports that the slip road is closed due to the incident, although all lanes of the M8 itself remain open.
