Teenage robbers target taxi driver and pizza delivery man
Police are looking for three suspects over the incidents in Oxgangs, Edinburgh on Monday.
Three teenage boys believed to be as young as 14 are being hunted after a pizza delivery man and a taxi driver were subjected to 'brazen' robberies in south Edinburgh.
In the first incident, a 48-year-old man arrived at Oxgangs Grove to deliver a pizza on Monday night.
As he went into the stairwell at around 8.20pm, three young men approached him from behind and demanded that he hand over the pizza delivery.
They attacked him and pushed him on the ground, before fleeing with the takeaway.
The victim managed to drive back to the restaurant he worked for before calling police.
Later that night, at around 10.50pm, a taxi driver was parked on Oxgangs Avenue when three people came towards him.
Without warning they opened the driver and passenger doors and ordered him to give them cash.
He did not give them money, but they grabbed his mobile phone.
The trio punched him in the head before running off into Oxgangs Street and Oxgangs Park where they were lost from sight.
All three suspects are described as white and aged between 14 and 17.
They are between 5ft 7in and 5ft 9in tall and were all wearing dark tracksuit tops.
Two of them were wearing grey jogging bottoms and a third was wearing light-coloured jogging bottoms and white trainers.
Detective Inspector John Kavanagh of Corstorphine CID said: "Given the brazen nature of these attacks and the vicinity in which they were carried out we believe that both incidents are linked and had been carried out by the same culprits.
"Thankfully the victims escaped serious injury however it was an extremely traumatic experience for them and we are keen to arrest those responsible.
"Today, I'm appealing to anyone who recognises the descriptions of the suspects or who observed suspicious activity in the areas of Oxgangs Grove and Oxgangs Avenue on Monday night to come forward."
Those with information are asked to contact police on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
