Police in Fife are becoming increasingly concerned for the safety of a 48-year-old man who was last seen on Thursday.

David Wallace, originally from Kirkcaldy, has not contacted friends or family since leaving an address in Boswell Drive, Edinburgh, on the morning of April 28.

His disappearance is said to be out of character and police are now appealing for the public's assistance in locating him.

Mr Wallace is described as around 5ft 11in tall with a medium to heavy build, green eyes, bushy eyebrows and receding grey hair.

Inspector Gary Combe who is based in Kirkcaldy said: "Our search for David continues and we are currently concentrating our efforts in the Queen's Drive and surrounding area of the city.

"We have a number of specialist officers dedicated to this operation including the Police Scotland helicopter and I'd like to thank the local community for their cooperation and patience while we carry out our inquiries.

"Today, I'm appealing for the public's assistance and want to hear from anyone who has seen David or has information on his whereabouts.

"There is a strong possibility that David has used public transport whilst in Edinburgh and I again appeal to any regular bus users who remember seeing David to come forward."

Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on the non-emergency number 101.
