Hundreds due to take part in mass search for missing man
Concerned friends and family appeal for volunteers to help them find Matthew Elmer.
A mass search has been organised in a bid to find a missing man who has not been seen since the weekend.
Matthew Elmer was last seen in Poplar Grove in Livingston, West Lothian, on Saturday at around 6pm.
The 23-year-old has not been in touch with loved ones since and fears are growing for his welfare.
Concerned friends launched an online appeal for people to take part in a search in Livingston.
In a public post on Facebook, James Gordon and Paul McGoogan asked volunteers to meet at the Asda store on Tuesday at 2pm.
They wrote: "We can split into groups and assign areas to cover as much ground. We are looking for people who can commit three hours but any time is valuable and cherished."
A total of 243 people have said they will take part in the search, while a further 504 said they were interested in attending.
The post added: "Thank you for the support so far but we have a brother, son, friend and legend that needs brought home."
Mr Elmer is described as white with blue eyes and dark brown hair, which is short at the sides and sometimes styled on top.
He is 5ft 8in and has a slim build. He was seen wearing a black jacket, black jogging trousers and white canvas laced up trainers. He wears black studs in both ears and was wearing a grey woollen hat.
Anyone with information about Mr Elmer's whereabouts is encouraged to call police on 101.
