Baby critically ill in hospital as police cordon off flat
The baby was taken to hospital on Sunday after an ambulance was called to a flat in Fife.
A five-month old baby is in a critical condition in hospital after an incident at a flat in Fife.
The baby was taken to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh by ambulance on Sunday afternoon after a 999 call was made.
It is understood she had suffered serious life-threatening injuries.
The incident happened at a flat on West High Street, Buckhaven, Leven, in Fife at around 12.30pm.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police in Fife were called to an address on West High Street, Leven, around 12.30pm on Sunday, February 14, following a report of concern for a child.
"A five-month-old girl was taken to the Sick Kids in Edinburgh where she remains in a critical condition.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
Police officers cordoned off the block of flats and forensic officers have been seen combing the area throughout Monday and Sunday.
