CCTV image released in probe into theft on train to Edinburgh

British Transport Police keen to trace man in picture after cash was stolen

A CCTV image has been released by British Transport Police in connection with a theft on a train to Edinburgh Waverley Station.

Personal property and a sum of cash was stolen from a passenger travelling on the 16.28 Dunblane to Edinburgh service on Saturday, December 19.

Officers believe the man pictured in the footage will be able to assist with their investigation.

He alighted from the train shortly after 5.35pm.

Constable Niall Bonnar, who is leading the investigation, said: “A sum of money was taken from a passenger's bag only a matter of days before Christmas and I am appealing to anyone who recognises the man shown in the photographs to contact me as a matter of urgency.”
