Body discovered in helicopter search for missing 74-year-old man
Family of Alexander Cruickshank have been informed of find near Lundin Links Golf Course in Fife.
A body has been found in the search for a missing man whose car was found abandoned in an industrial estate.
Police launched a land and air search for Alexander Cruikshank on Tuesday morning after the 74-year-old was reported missing from his home in Buckhaven, Fife.
His car was found at the Burnmill Industrial Estate, Leven, near the River Leven at 6.30pm on Monday.
Police confirmed a body was recovered on the shore close to Lundin Links Golf Course at around 9.30am on Tuesday.
A police spokesman said formal identification has yet to take place but the family of Mr Cruikshank have been informed. He added there are no suspicious circumstances.
