Scots enjoy warmest Easter Monday on record as temps soar
Glasgow has already reached 21.7C making it Scotland's warmest Easter Monday on record.
Scots are enjoying the warmest Easter Monday on record as temperatures officially reach 21.7C in Glasgow.
The country has been left basking in the bank holiday sunshine with figures expected to possibly rise even higher by late afternoon.
"Temperatures in the western highlands have been rising rapidly so we could even see highs of 25/26C there today," says STV Weather presenter Laura Piper.
"We've still got a bit of a way to go to beat Scotland's all time April record of 27.2C, but we're not ruling out this being the hottest day of the year just yet, assuming we beat yesterday's 23.4C."
The warm weather is attributed to an area of high pressure over Scandinavia which has brought settled conditions and sunshine.
"The warm weather is likely to continue into Tuesday as well, though we will start to see a change in conditions as that high pressure drifts away later in the week," adds Laura.
"I'm afraid we are likely to have a turn to more unsettled conditions by Friday so do get out there and enjoy some ice-cream in the sunshine while you can."
