An Elgin schoolboy who sparked a police search after going missing overnight has been found.

Charlie Milne, 13, had not been seen since 7.30pm on Thursday night.

Officers issued an appeal on Friday, asking for information on his whereabouts.

They have now confirmed he has been traced safe and well.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers are pleased to confirm that 13-year-old Charlie Milne, who was reported missing from the Elgin area, has been traced safe and well.

"Thank you to everyone who provided information and shared our appeal."
