Several firefighters are tackling a huge house blaze in Glasgow.

Twelve crews attended the scene at Tollcross Park Gardens in the east end of the city as thick black smoke could be seen for miles.

The fire broke out in the roof of a four storey block of flats at around 6pm on Friday.

The building was evacuated as emergency services raced to the area.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue service confirmed the incident.

A spokeswoman said: "Officers attended Tollcross Park Gardens after receiving reports of a house fire at around 6.36pm. "
