The body of a 26-year-old man was discovered in a property in Perth and Kinross on Saturday night.

At around 10pm, police were called to an address on Hazel Court in Alyth.

The death is being treated as unexplained.

Detective Chief Inspector Graham Binnie said: "Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding his death are ongoing.

"Officers are currently at the scene and there will be a police presence in the area for some time.

"I would like to thank the local community for their patience whilst we carry out our enquiries. I would also like to reassure them that this was a contained and isolated incident.

"The family of the deceased man have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

"Details of the man will not be released until formal identification has taken place.
