A train carrying Republican politicians and their families has been involved in a crash.

The train collided with a rubbish van as it travelled through Charlottesville, West Virginia on Wednesday morning.

No injuries have been reported.

"Thankfully it does appear that most people are Ok here, some minor injuries," Congressman Carlos Curbelo, of Florida, told NBC News.

The incident happened outside of Charlottesville.

"We were on our way to West Virginia and it was a sudden impact, a loud noise and everyone was jolted," Congressman Curbelo added.
