The attack began when a car bomb exploded outside the organisation's office.
Gunmen have stormed the offices of Save the Children in Afghanistan, killing at least one person and wounding 14 others.
The aid agency was targeted early on Wednesday morning when a suicide attacker detonated a car bomb outside the entrance of the office in the eastern city of Jalalabad.
The death count could increase as fighting is ongoing at the scene.
Armed men entered the office and are reported to have taken up positions on higher levels of the building.
A government spokesperson said an operation to stop the siege is ongoing.
A spokesperson for Save the Children said: "Our primary concern is for the safety and security of our staff. We are awaiting further information from our team and cannot comment further at this time."
The Taliban has denied being involved in the attack.
