A Chinese woman missing in Glasgow texted "help me" to a friend before vanishing.

Sirong Xu, known as Grace, was last seen in the city centre at about 2.30pm on Tuesday.

She sent a friend three "crying" emojis, followed by the words "Help me" in Mandarin at around 4.30pm.

She has not been seen or heard from since and friends say she has not returned to her home in Glasgow.

Police are examining CCTV footage from Central Station, where Grace went with her boyfriend to say goodbye before he boarded a train.

The footage reportedly shows Grace in the main concourse of the station before heading to the lower level. She may then have been seen on Sauchiehall Street.

Anyone with any information about Grace's disappearance has been asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
