An appeal has been launched to establish the identity of a man who was admitted to hospital on Boxing Day.

The mystery man has been a patient at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, Larbert, since Tuesday but is not in possession of any documentation.

NHS Forth Valley said he has also been unable to tell staff who he is.

The man is described as being in his early 40s, 5ft 6in, of medium build with brown receding hair and stubble on his face.

He was wearing a black quilted jacket, green checked shirt, blue t-shirt, black jogging bottoms and trainers.

The man has tattoos on his upper right arm of two Samurai swords and one of his chest of a Samurai. He speaks with a local accent.

Staff are now appealing for anyone who recognises the man in the photo to get in contact to help trace his next of kin.

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101 using reference number 1665 of 26th December who will pass relevant information to local NHS staff.
