Fire rips through five-star hotel as residents rescued
Emergency services were called to the Cameron House Hotel at Loch Lomond on Monday.
A fire has ripped through a five-star hotel, forcing residents to flee.
The Cameron House Hotel at Loch Lomond went up in flames shortly after 6.40am on Monday.
Four people, including a family with a baby, have been taken to hospital.
STV News understands the baby had to be rescued from a third-floor window.
Other residents have been evacuated while more than 45 firefighters are battling the blaze.
Smoke could be seen billowing from three of the floors within the hotel.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: "The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 6.41am on Monday to reports of a fire that had taken hold within Cameron House Hotel, Balloch.
"Operations control immediately mobilised four appliances and an aerial appliance to the scene.
"Firefighters are currently in the process of searching the building while fighting the fire using powerful water jets.
"The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service remains at the scene."
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman added: "We dispatched two ambulances and our special operations response team to the scene.
"Three patients, two adults and one child, were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital."
