Welcome to Scotland from the Roadside, a weekly gallery showcasing some of the best images from around the country taken by you.

From opportune moments shot on smartphones to breathtaking landscapes captured in high definition, each week we share a selection of interesting pictures taken by people on their travels around Scotland.

We have partnered up with the Scotland from the Roadside Facebook group, a popular destination for trading photos and stories, which has drawn in more than 100,000 members.

Each week, we ask the page's creators, Bruce Philip and Linda Curran, to select their favourite images shared on the page over the past seven days.

From mountains in the moonlight to wintry walks through the hills, take a look at some of their favourite shots taken as the days get colder.

Little cottage by the loch by Evelyn Kelly

"This was a 'stop the car!' reaction to this view of the red roofed cottage by Loch Torridon as we were driving by on the road to Shieldaig," says Evelyn.

"I recognised the scene from either a painting or a photo and dashed back to take a shot with my mobile phone.

"We can't wait to return to this stunning area."

Journey through the hills by Kevin Ainslie‎

"We were travelling north to the Glen Affric area for a week's photography holiday and decided to go via Glencoe and Glen Etive," says Kevin.

"This shot from Glen Etive caught my eye as the road winds through the autumnal glen leading to the cloud-covered mountains and waterfall in the distance.

"A typical Scottish autumnal scene."

"I was visiting from County Durham staying in a cottage just a minute walk from this location," says Mark.

"Torren Lochan on a frosty, clear night with a near full moon seemed like a great opportunity to try some long exposure night photography."

Cullen beach by Robert Sweeney

"I live in Cullen and was walking on the harbour and could not resist the sunset over Bin Hill," says Robert.

"In particular it shining through the viaduct."

Mountain panorama by air by Mark McNeill

"The photo was taken last week on a trip to Glencoe with my eight-year-old daughter," says Mark.

"We travelled up from Blackpool, stopped at Edinburgh to collect some furniture, then up to the glen.

"I took this photo at sunrise with a drone after waking at 4am to photograph the Milky Way - it's an amazing location."

"I was having a day trip out around Argyll as it was a beautiful day and when in Inveraray you can't help but notice the Vital Spark," says Andrew.

"It's such a brilliant boat and thanks to Para Handy, it's an icon. I don't think you can go wrong with the sunny blue skies of the west coast and a boat that looks at home in its setting."

Clouds over the Cuillin by John Sloan

"We had noticed strange cloud formations all that day," says John.

"We were on our way to Glen Brittle when the clouds looked even more dramatic against the backdrop of the Cuillin."

Mist above the town by Nicol Nicolson

"This was taken from the bridge next to my parents' house about midday on Wednesday," says Nicol.

"The fog was taking longer than usual to lift. I'd just run up the back road from Canonbie after a doctor's appointment and went straight into the house, grabbed my camera and stood on the middle of Thomas Telford Road to catch the effect.

"It was gone within 15 minutes so I'm glad I did."

Wintry mountains by Kimberley Duffy‎

"I was on a week trip exploring the Highlands going to Skye and back from central Scotland," says Kimberley.

"This picture was taken on a 22-mile single track road to Kinloch Hourn."
