A 14-year-old boy has been charged with murder after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death in a London park.

Michael Jonas was fatally attacked in Betts Park, Penge, south-east London.

Detectives have also charged a 17-year-old boy, Scotland Yard said.

The pair will appear in custody at Bromley Magistrates' Court on Monday.

The total number of boys charged with murder is now four, with two other teenagers - a 17-year-old and a 16-year-old having already appeared in court.

The Metropolitan Police said it was called to Betts Park at around 7.20pm on November 2 to reports a male had been attacked.

Officers found the victim with multiple stab wounds at the scene and administered first aid before the arrival of paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance.

Despite efforts to revive him, the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene just under an hour later.

A post-mortem examination at the Princess Royal University Hospital confirmed the cause of death as stab wounds to the chest and haemorrhage.
