A man has been taken to hospital after he was attacked in a Glasgow street.

Police Scotland said the alarm was raised around 11am in Vennard Gardens, Shawlands.

The victim was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital but no details have been released about his condition.

A force spokeswoman said inquires were at a very early stage to establish the full circumstances of what happened.

Police were unable to say if a weapon was involved.
