The carers of missing woman Margaret Fleming are due to appear in court on Friday.

The 36-year-old was reported missing from her home in Inverkip, Inverclyde, on October 28 last year.

Police were alerted to her disappearance by carers Eddie Cairney, 76, and 57-year-old Avril Jones.

The pair were detained on Wednesday and are expected to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Friday.

Her carers are the only people to have seen Ms Fleming, who has learning difficulties, since a family gathering in December 1999.

She is thought to have stayed with her father in Port Glasgow before he died in October 1995.

She then lived with her grandparents and her mother before moving in with her carers in 1997.
