Welcome to Scotland from the Roadside, a weekly gallery showcasing some of the best images from around the country taken by you.

From opportune moments shot on smartphones to breathtaking landscapes captured in high definition, each week we share a selection of interesting pictures taken by people on their travels around Scotland.

We have partnered up with the Scotland from the Roadside Facebook group, a popular destination for trading photos and stories, which has drawn in more than 100,000 members.

Each week, we ask the page's creators, Bruce Philip and Linda Curran, to select their favourite images shared on the page over the past seven days.

From autumnal woodland walks to golden skies on Lewis, take a look at this week's selection of shots.

Palace in the mist by Jan Smith

"Linlithgow is one of my favourite areas to visit," says Jan.

"I was staying with a friend in Falkirk when we decided to wake up at silly o'clock in the morning to photograph a sunrise at the loch.

"We were rewarded with a magical scene of the sun just peeking through the horizon and the mist rising from the loch.

"It was a magical moment that I had to capture on camera and this photo is the result. I was told that mist over the loch is fairly rare."

Scottish watercolours by Samantha Jade

"This photo was taken on Monday at Loch Ard, Hurricane Ophelia had done some damage that night on the country roads," says Samantha.

"I went there with some college friends to try to photograph some landscapes for our photography course. We left Glasgow at 5am in the morning and got there when it was still dark at 6.30pm.

"We trekked up to the loch and nearly walked by this shot. Loch Ard is one of the most beautiful places I've been to in Scotland."

Autumn colours by Syd Thomson

"I was in Callendar Park taking photos for the Falkirk Parkrun which I do most Saturday mornings," says Syd.

"Callendar Park is such a great place for photographs and particularly so at this time of year. I simply thought the colours of autumn went particularly well with the house.

"The house is open to the public and has some marvellous displays of photographs and artefacts as well as a cafe."

Surfing the North by Kirsten Jorgensen

"I am visiting Lewis - this is a place I adore," says Kirsten. "Also, in my new profession as a tour guide, I am always looking for beautiful places that my clients will love.

"Lewis has history, beauty, culture, wildlife - I want to introduce people to it and have them feel about it the same way I do."

Brocken Spectre by Andy O'Brien‎

"This photo was taken on the mountain Bruach na Frithe on the Cuillin Ridge on the Isle of Skye," says Andy.

"Brocken Spectres are very rare to see and this day they were happening all the time.

"I've only ever captured one before on the 78 Munros I have done."

Autumn splendour by [Chris Cogan](http:// https://www.facebook.com/groups/scotlandfromtheroadside/permalink/10156001294417280/)

"I live near Rogart, Sutherland, and pass Loch Fleet most days going to Dornoch or Tain," says Chris.

"As I crossed the bridge at the mound heading south, I noticed how calm the water was so I pulled into the sluice gates carpark and noticed how the reflection on the water was near perfect.

"I took a couple of photos and carried on to Dornoch - within half an hour I came back and the weather had turned, blowing a bit and raining, just a lucky shot before the weather changed.

"I'm just a happy snapper photographer and love sharing the views I see."

Typical Scottish farming by Ronald Poleson

"I drive a delivery truck for Jewson builders merchants all over Shetland," says Ronald.

"I spotted these Emoji sylage bales."

Hidden glen by Florence Milne

"My photo was taken from my garden in Dollar," says Florence. "The view is always changing depending on the weather.

"The castle is a good walk up the hill!"

Enjoying the view by Craig Fletcher

"This was at the Ben Tianavaig decent, probably around two years ago," says Craig.

"We had ridden out a storm under a rock ledge and on the way back down I spotted this guy.

"The timing was perfect, just as I got the shutter button there was a ray of light that hit him."
