Part of Scotland's busiest motorway has been closed after a serious collision.

The M8 has been closed eastbound at Junction 15 (Cathedral) due to the crash on Thursday evening.

Traffic is currently being diverted to Castle Street as a result of the collision.

The diversion route and other ramps in the north of the city are likely to be extremely busy.

Drivers are being warned that delays are inevitable, and to consider alternative routes.
