An "aggressive" dog walker has threatened passers-by in a Midlothian town.

The man, who had a husky with him, became aggressive towards a cyclist in Loanhead on Monday.

He threatened a 44-year-old man on a cycle path before walking off.

Earlier, he made a threatening gesture towards a 48-year-old woman who was driving to work from her home on Park View on Monday, September 4.

Police believe the same man is responsible for both incidents and have appealed for help in identifying him.

He is between 35 and 45, is 6ft 3in and unshaven. He spoke with a South African accent.

Constable Emma Yetton, from Bonnyrigg Police Station, said: "We believe the suspect has had a number of exchanges with various members of the public in the Loanhead area and on each occasion he acts aggressively or threatening towards those he comes in contact with.

"If you have information that can assist in tracing this man then please contact police immediately.

"Similarly, of you would also like to report having been approached by him then get in touch via 101."
