In pictures: Striking shots from across Scotland this week
Spectacular wildflower meadows and fiery russet cliffs captured from the roadside.
Welcome to Scotland from the Roadside, a weekly gallery showcasing some of the best images from around the country taken by you.
From opportune moments shot on smartphones to breathtaking landscapes captured in high definition, each week we share a selection of interesting pictures taken by people on their travels around Scotland.
We have partnered up with the Scotland from the Roadside Facebook group, a popular destination for trading photos and stories, which has drawn in more than 100,000 members.
Each week, we ask the page's creators, Bruce Philip and Linda Curran, to select their favourite images shared on the page over the past seven days.
This week photographers have captured an array of images bursting with colour under the theme #roadsidecolour.
From spectacular wildflower meadows to fiery russet cliffs, take a look at this week's selection of shots.
Pretty houses in Dornie by Andy N Michele Brooks-furnell
"We decided on a short road trip where we hadn't walked before despite it being a damp day," says Andy.
"We parked at the end of Dornie Bridge at the cafe and walked to the village.
"What a joy seeing these lovely bright cottages along the narrow lane where we continued our walk for another hour. It was beautiful."
Yellow on a grey day by Maggie Harrison
"I was going past the castle after being on Skye earlier this year," says Maggie.
"It was a grey and miserable day and the yellow of the broom just caught my eye.
"It seems every time I stop at the castle it rains. Thanks to Scotland from the Roadside I get to see what it looks like in the sun through other people's photos."
Splash of colour at the Botanics by Mark McGillivray
"I work as a train driver and stay in Glenboig, North Lanarkshire," says Mark.
"The photo was taken in March this year during a morning photo walk in the Botanic Gardens on one of my days off work.
"It's actually a stitch of eight separate exposures to give the final panoramic image and I was attracted to the image by the contrast of the girl with the pink umbrella alone (unusual in such a busy park) in front of such an iconic structure."
Roadside colour splash by Debbie Neilson
"This is a picture of the wild flower meadow that is in Bo'ness at the Bo'ness foreshore," says Debbie.
"I was lucky in my timing when I took this shot as all the wild flowers were flowering at their best and growing close together.
"I loved the stunning colours and appreciated their natural beauty. Sometimes you have to get low down with the beasties to get the shot!"
Burst of autumn gold by Kim Look
"I spend as much time in Scotland as I am able as my partner is Scottish," says Kim.
"I am from the state of Maine in the US where we have many maples and spectacular fall colours.
"This big, glorious maple was an unexpected find for me and reminded me so much of my home. I was in Drumnadrochit for the day walking the trails to Craigmonie and the Falls of Divach."
Colour on the water by Alan Scott
"The family were on holiday in Fort William and took a run to Ballachulish," says Alan.
"My wife and son decided to do the boat tour while I looked after our youngest on shore.
"I took some photos on my phone and experimented with settings. I thought the orange boat would stand out against the dull background given it was a bit of a dreech day. It did."
He adds: "They loved the trip and the local info given out by the operator, well worth it if anyone is in area, even on a wet day."
Orange among the basalt by Suzie Mills
"I was on Mull on holiday and took a trip out to Staffa," says Suzie.
"On the way back from Fingal's Cave and looking for something a bit different to photograph, this bright lifebelt and its reflection caught my eye as they broke up the expanse of grey basalt."
Rustic red by Reg Connon
"I live in Macduff about 15 miles from Pennan and go there quite regularly as its very picturesque," says Reg.
"This photo was taken as a selective colour shot as I noticed a lot of red on a bright sunny day that I'd never seen before."
Crimson tide by Glyn Jones
"Horgobost beach on the Isle of Harris," says Glyn. "The morning after the storm. The red seaweed was very bizarre and disappeared on the next high tide!"
Beach huts on a cloudy day by Lesley Murray
"This was taken during Jul y on a visit to the beach huts at Hopeman," says Lesley.
"It was a beautiful sunny day when you looked one way but very stormy the other.
"The cloudy sky making the perfect back drop to highlight the wonderful colours of the beach huts. Also highlighting the typical Scottish weather."
