A street has been closed off in Edinburgh following a serious assault.

Police were photographed on the scene at Tarvit Street near the Meadows at around 7.30am on Friday.

An officer was standing guard on the street outside what appear to be forensics tents police have set up.

The incident took place on Thursday night.

Detectives are continuing to investigate.
