Two men have been arrested over an alleged hit-and-run in Aberdeen.

An 18 and 19-year-old were detained as part of an investigation.

No one has been charged and enquiries are ongoing.

LJ Jackson, eight, was on Cornhill Terrace at around 4.30pm on Sunday when it is believed he was knocked over.

Emergency services attended and LJ was taken to Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital, where he is still being treated.

His injuries are described as non-life threatening.

A police spokesman said: "We can confirm that two men aged 18 and 19-years-old have been detained as part of enquiries into the collision involving an eight-year-old boy on Sunday."
