Fifty Ayrshire venues will open their doors to art lovers this weekend as part of a special festival.

Some of the county's best-loved theatres and galleries will take part in the celebration of the best the area has to offer.

Ayr's Gaiety Theatre as well as the grand 18th century Auchinleck House are just two of the buildings to explore.

The Open Doors festival aims to encourage people to explore and learn more about their local area.

The event is organised by Kyle and Carrick Civic Society with help from other voluntary groups.

The society thanked all those who have so readily co-operated in opening their buildings.
