Winners announced for 57th annual Troon Golf Weekender
It was played between Darley, Lochgreen and Fullarton golf courses
More than 300 golfers from across the UK came to tee off at Troon for the annual Golf Weekender on Saturday.
Now in its 57th year, the competition invited amateur golfers to take part and win up to £3500.
It was played between Darley, Lochgreen and Fullarton golf courses from Friday August 25 to Sunday August 27.
Joe Murray of the Huyton and Prescot Golf Club took home the Mills Quaich trophy, with a score of 146, while George Walker from the Ashton and Lea golf club landed the Troon Rose Bow.
The Ladies Jubille Cup was taken by Fiona McAlister of Prestwick St Cuthbert golf club with a score of 71, and the Charles Buchanan Veteran Shield was won by Paul Sinclair from Crow Wood golf club.
Brian McGinley, South Ayrshire Council's portfolio holder for economic development, tourism and leisure thanked everyone involved for making the event such a success.
He said: "With hundreds of golfers descending on Troon, we had an army of people working hard behind the scenes to make sure everything went off as smoothly as possible.
"Although the players faced mixed playing conditions, with torrential rain on Friday, the competition was tight, and golfers were keen to make their mark on a competition that's been a popular fixture since the 1960s.
"With the newly refurbished clubhouse acting as the base for competitors and spectators alike, the Troon Golf Weekender helps to promote South Ayrshire as a go-to destination, while also showcasing our ongoing efforts to promote Golf to a new generation."
