Gordon Greer hopes to help Kilmarnock's youngsters progress this season after making his Rugby Park return.

The experienced defender is back in Ayrshire after a decade in English football and at the age of the 36 he feels he has plenty to offer.

Greer, who starred for Killie between 2003 and 2007, became Lee McCulloch's tenth summer signing.

The Scotland international spoke to the club's website about his hopes for the campaign ahead of Saturday's league opener against St Johnstone.

He said: "I'd like to think I'm similar to the player I was here before.

"It's been a long time and I've played in some big games and I'm hoping to help some of the younger players."
