A77 action group hits out over banner 'victimisation'
Local campaigners say 12 critical banners were taken down and damaged.
An action group campaigning for improvements to the A77 claims it has been unfairly targeted by road operator Transerv.
The group claims 12 of its banners were taken down and damaged, while other advertising placards have been left untouched, because it has criticised the level of investment on roads in South Ayrshire.
Transerv has yet to respond.
John Campbell from the group said: "We are raging down in this part of the world. This has cost quite a bit of money to buy these (banners) and we seem to have been victimised.
"From day one they don't want us to tell the public about the lack of investment in this area. They just threw the banners into my garden.
"We're just a group of volunteers trying to get investment in this part of Scotland."
