Stenson, McIlroy and Fowler in group for Scottish Open
All-star trio will tee off together during the opening round at Dundonald Links.
Reigning Open champion Henrik Stenson has been paired in an all-star group with Rory McIlroy and Rickie Fowler for the first round of the Scottish Open.
The Swede, who has admitted he has struggled to cope with the demands of winning at Royal Troon last summer, has been handed an 8.30am tee time at Dundonald Links.
He's joined by fellow top ten players McIlroy and Fowler, who are looking to hit form ahead of next week's Open at Royal Birkdale.
Northern Irishman McIlroy has not won on the European Tour in 14 months but he is in confident mood ahead of taking on the Ayrshire course.
For American ace Fowler, this week represents another chance to test his links game.
"I'm definitely looking forward to being back here in Scotland," he said.
"I was a little bummed that we weren't able to make it back last year with some schedule conflicts but after getting the win here in 2015 at Gullane, I always love playing over here in Scotland."
