A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an east London acid attack on a pair sat in car.

John Tomlin had been sought by police after the attack at 9.13am on the morning of Wednesday 21 June in Tollgate Road, Beckton.

According to police Mr Tomlin handed himself in on Sunday following a police appeal for information about his whereabouts.

He has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and is currently in custody while enquiries continue.
