Plans to mimic Glasgow's west end in two Ayr streets have been announced.

Organisers behind FreshAyr pop-up events in the area want to recreate the vibe of Ashton Lane and Byres Road.

Queens Court and Newmarket Street are sites targeted for the programme with the ambition to allow space for artists as well as increased food and drink provision.

FreshAyr's Robert Singer says he has been inspired by similar programmes in places such as Dundee.

The group's next project will take place on July 12 having found a permanent home within Queens Court.

Artists and those with creative ideas are being encouraged to get involved in this month's event.
