Ayrshire course to host Scottish Open qualifying event
Barassie will see a strong field of hopefuls looking to reach event at Dundonald.
A former PGA champion and two winning Walker Cup members will line up in Ayrshire as they bid to qualify for the Scottish Open.
Scott Drummond joins Kilmarnock local Jack Doherty and Paul Lawrie's son Craig in the field at Barassie.
Four spots are available in order to join stars Rory McIlroy, Henrik Stenson, Adam Scott and Rickie Fowler at Dundonald Links from July 13-16.
Shona Malcolm, the PGA in Scotland secretary, said: "As a Tartan Tour Order of Merit event, the field for this year's qualifier is one of the strongest on record.
"Kilmarnock (Barassie) is an excellent test of golf and a great host venue.
"There is no doubt that the four players who ultimately qualify for the Scottish Open will deserve to be in that starting line-up next Thursday."
