Camden tower block evacuated in wake of Grenfell fire
Residents temporarily rehoused so 'urgent fire safety works' can take place.
Residents are to be evacuated from a tower block in Camden, north London, to allow "urgent fire safety works" to take place, local council leader Georgia Gould said.
Those living in the Taplow block on the Chalcots estate are to be rehoused into temporary accommodation following a joint inspection of the block by the London Fire Brigade and Camden Council.
The move comes as a vast operation is under way across the UK to identify buildings with cladding like that used on the Grenfell Tower.
Camden council identified that a number of tower blocks on the Chalcot's estate used similar cladding.
Those cladding panels are being removed, the council said.
