Family donate money raised at son's funeral to hospital
Ross Quinn was killed in a road accident last August.
The family of a motorcyclist killed in a road accident last year have donated money to University Crosshouse Hospital.
Ross Quinn, from Kilwinning, died in a crash in August last year on the A737 Beith bypass in North Ayrshire.
The 23-year-old had been travelling south when he is thought to have lost control of his motorcycle before colliding with a Mercedes Sprinter van and a BMW 3 Series travelling in the opposite direction.
His family have decided to donate £500, which was raised at the motorcyclist's funeral, to Ayrshire Maternity Unit's neonatal unit.
Clinical midwife manager of neonatal services, Caroline Blake, said: "We would like to thank the Quinn family very much for thinking of the unit at what must be an extremely difficult time.
"It is greatly appreciated and will go towards looking after the babies we care for."
