Concerns over welfare of missing pensioner with dementia

A pensioner who has dementia has gone missing from his home in East Renfrewshire.
Shing Cheung, 87, was last seen at his home in Brent Gardens, Thornliebank around 0930 hrs this morning.
He has not been seen since, and his family are said to be very concerned for his welfare. Police are now appealing to the public in a bid to establish Mr Cheung's whereabouts.
Mr Cheung is around 5ft 7, with a thin build and black, greying hair. When last seen he was wearing a grey jacket, blue trousers and light brown shoes.
It is understood that he often visits the Boydstone Park area of the town.
Extensive enquiries are under way to locate Mr Cheung and officers are reviewing CCTV footage for any information which could lead to locating him.
Inspector Alan Scullion said: "Given Mr Cheung's age and the fact that he has dementia, our concern for him and his well-being is growing.
"If anyone has seen him or has any information as to his whereabouts, I would ask them to contact us as soon as possible.
"His family is understandably very concerned for him and just want to know he is safe and well." Anyone with information is asked to call officers at Pollok Police Station on 101.
