Neonatal unit receives knitted gifts for new arrivals
They have been placing the cosy donations in every incubator.
Staff and customers at a Kilmarnock building society have knitted donations for some special new arrivals at University Crosshouse Hospital.
Nationwide have donated knitted hats, cardigans and baby clothes to the neonatal unit as a thank you for the work that the nurses do.
They have been placing the cosy donations in every incubator in the unit as part of their new campaign, which sees all of their fundraising efforts go towards the unit.
Branch manager Lesley Gerrish, said: "We are quite humbled by the work the staff do in the neonatal unit and by all of the little things they do to make things easier for families, such as putting matching bonnets, bootees and blankets in each incubator for babies arriving.
"As a result of how welcomed we were made to feel on our visit, Nationwide Kilmarnock will donate all of our fundraising to the neonatal unit this year, and will keep our campaign for knitting donations going as well."
Clinical midwife manager of neonatal services, Caroline Blake, said: "We would like to give our heartfelt thanks to Lesley, Susan and their team and customers for their donation and for their generous intentions to dedicate their fundraising to us this year.
"We will put the lovely knitted baby clothes to excellent use."
