A fitness and lifestyle blogger has been killed after a whipped cream dispenser exploded hitting her in the chest.

The death of the 32-year-old was announced by her family on social media who said it was a "domestic incident".

Posting a picture of the type of dispenser Ms Burger had, they warned people not to use them claiming "thousands of defective devices are still in circulation".

"Here is an example of a siphon that exploded and crashed into Rebecca's chest, causing her death", the post said.

Despite receiving medical attention she died of cardiac arrest, French media reported.

Ms Burger was a well-known lifestyle blogger in France and had over 158,000 followers on Instagram.
