In pictures: The 72nd Glasgow Taxi Outing to the seaside
Hundreds of school children with additional support needs head to Troon.
The annual Glasgow Taxi Outing is the most important date on the calendar for the city's black cab drivers, as they buckle up and collect some very special guests.
Over 300 children with special educational needs are taken every year from the bustling city to the quaint seaside town of Troon for a day of games, colour and some much needed fun.
But while their destination awaits with bouncy castles, pony rides and sandcastles galore, the drivers make sure they travel in style.
Decked in balloons, streamers and a whole lot of glitter, more than 100 taxis made the trip again on Wednesday, more than seven decades since the first journey from Glasgow to Troon in 1946.
Glasgow Taxi Outing Fund chair Jim Buchanan said: "We're grateful to every single person who makes this happen, from our amazing drivers and volunteers, to the many businesses and organisations who get behind it.
"However, it's all about the children and the smiles on their faces are truly priceless, and that's what makes the event so special."
A Disney-inspired taxi was chosen as the events 'best decorated' vehicle - John McKenna scooped the prize for his Finding Nemo cab, and lead the parade on its journey from Glasgow to Troon.
The procession was joined by the Police Scotland pipe band, who helped lead the cabbies and their excited passengers through the streets of Troon and to the shorefront.
Little William is heading in for some very serious heart surgery next month, but he said that the trip was one of the best days of his life.
"I was in the taxi with my best friend," he said. "We got to go on the bouncy castle and see all the balloons."
