Finalists announced for annual Ayrshire Achieves awards
Organisers have revealed the 27 finalists.
Organisers have revealed the 27 finalists in the annual Ayrshire Achieves awards.
The awards enable local people to recognise the contribution of both health workers and volunteers throughout Ayrshire.
A judging panel made up of staff, senior managers, members of the public and representatives from trades unions selected the finalists and overall winners in each category.
NHS Ayrshire and Arran chief executive John Burns said: "On behalf of the organisation, I would like to thank everyone who took the time to nominate their health hero for an award, and congratulate all those members of staff and volunteers who were nominated.
"In total, we received more than 100 nominations across the categories - the highest number ever received.
"Every day we hear of examples of our dedicated staff going the extra mile. They don't do this in anticipation of awards, but because they are committed to providing safe, high quality care.
"Congratulations to the finalists and I wish you the best of luck."
The winners of Ayrshire Achieves 2017 will be announced at an awards ceremony at University Hospital Ayr on Thursday, June 29.
