Local radio station West FM is to move its output to Glasgow.

The station has plans to broadcast from the same studios as Radio Clyde in Glasgow, while retaining an office in Ayrshire for its sales team, local news and charity Cash for Kids.

The move will begin on Saturday, July 1.

Westsound's Cream of Ayrshire Awards will remain unchanged and continue to celebrate Ayrshire's unsung heroes from its Ayr studio later this year.

Group managing director at Bauer City Network, Graham Bryce, said: "Our commitment to creating compelling engaging relevant content is at the heart of what we do.

"We are focusing our product investment in areas that provide differentiation and a deep connection with our listeners - exceptional Breakfast and Drive shows, award-winning local news, sport, traffic and travel, and high quality and relevant local information.

"We will continue to have our sales team, local news and Cash for Kids charity team based in the local area - with all the money raised in Ayrshire staying in Ayrshire".
