Runaway horses cause rush hour chaos on Ayrshire road
Drivers on the A78 were faced with lengthy delays.
Two runaway horses have been safely removed from the A78.
Drivers were faced with lengthy delays after two Clydesdale horses were reported to have escaped on to the carriageway.
North Ayrshire Police confirmed they were dealing with the incident at around 8.45am on Monday.
They said: "Police attending incident of horses on A78 between Pennyburn roundabout and Eglinton interchange. Please drive carefully."
The escapees caused serious delays on the road but police said they had acquired the two horses at around 9.30am.
Taking to Twitter, the division wrote: "A78 now cleared and horses safely removed. Traffic returning to normal."
